I heard on the radio that the NFL has an injunction so you can't say Super Bowl in certain circumstances. So I was afraid if I labeled this post Super Bowl Weekend the NFL cops would come down hard and Marshawn Lynch me with a $50,000 fine even though I am speaking with the media. Well through social media anyway. So to be sure I won't say we had a Super Bowl of soup yesterday, even though we did (chicken tortilla and it was very tasty) I'm not even going to say that yesterday we had a Supper Bowl of soup because I don't want to be misheard and cause problems......and because we had it for lunch.
If you have noticed, stores have gotten around this injunction by advertising The Big Game as in:
"Get your supplies for the Big Game."
" We have everything you need for the Big Game."
"All Big Game supplies on sale."
So I could have titled this the "Big Weekend" but with my family doing a Big Year I know that would have caused some confusion:
"Hmmmm Mike and Cindy are there, they are calling this their Big Weekend, I know THEY ARE GOING TO ATTU."
Let me dispel that rumor right now. We are not going to Attu. This weekend. There is absolutely no birding going on this weekend. For one thing its -3 as I write this. And windy so we even have the curtains over our sliding glass door closed. Nope no birds this weekend.
But we are playing games, eating too much and having a wonderful time. Especially Lisa who has so far been the Big Winner winning both Monopoly Deal and the Settlers of Catan. So she has been having a Super Big Weekend. So far. More games this afternoon.
We will probably watch the football game today, even though Mike went online and we have seen most of the commercials already. Mike has his Wes Welker jersey and would look silly wearing that playing Spades, so yeah we will watch football. Plus it's messy to hold cards while eating hot wings, meatballs, BBQ chicken dip and bacon wrapped dates. And for the healthy eaters we have fruit: strawberries dipped in chocolate and apples with carmel, so that's covered too. Go Broncos!
